CHARACTER Name: Donald Blake/Thor Played-By: Tom Felton/Alexander Skaarsgard In-Character Journal: LittleViking Age/Birthdate: 16/22 April 1993 Team: Defenders Powers: Like all Asgardians, Thor is not truly immortal but relies upon periodic consumption of the Golden Apples of Idunn to sustain his lifespan, which to date has lasted many millennia. Being the son of Odin and the elder goddess Gaea, the character is physically the strongest of the Norse gods. If pressed in battle, Thor is also capable of entering into a state known as the "Warrior's Madness" ("berserksgangr" in Norse), which will temporarily increase his strength tenfold. He also has virtually inexhaustible godly stamina, high resistance to physical injury such as rocket fire and falls from orbital heights, and superhuman speed, agility and reflexes. As the Norse god of Thunder, Thor can summon the elements of the storm (lightning; rain; wind), and use Mjolnir as a tool to focus this ability.
Thor is a superb hand-to-hand combatant, and also skilled in armed combat, excelling in the use of the war hammer, sword and mace. Thor possesses two items which assist him in combat: the enchanted Belt of Strength, and his mystical hammer Mjolnir. The first item doubles Thor's strength and endurance while the second is used to control his weather abilities; flight, energy projection and absorption; dimensional apertures; matter manipulation and the most powerful of his offensives, the God Blast and the Anti-Force. Sexuality: Straight Hometown: New York
PERSONALITY Synopsis: Thor is the son of Odin, and Donald Blake is his earthly host. Thor is righteous and strong-willed, and will do everything within his godly powers to protect Earth and the innocent. Donald Blake is something of the opposite, timid, shy, sickly. He is good-hearted, though his physical condition leaves him generally powerless without the hammer Mjolnir. Positive Traits: Strong will, righteous morals Negative Traits: Black and white sense of morality with little room for a gray area in between. He sometimes dreams of remaking the world to get rid of crime, hunger, poverty, etc. Likes: Nature, medicine Dislikes: Cruel hearts, evil people Talents (Skills): Donald Blake is fascinated by medical science and as such has studied it extensively. His medical training goes far beyond what a normal high school student would have, though not to the level of a doctor or nurse. Flaws (Lack of Skills): Shyness, lack of physical stamina or strength (Donald, not Thor)
HISTORY Family History: Thor is the son of the Norse gods Odin and Gaea, and has an adopted brother called Loki. Odin sent Thor to live in Donald's body when he thought Thor was becoming ungrateful for his godhood, and for millenia, Loki has lived in Thor's shadow, growing bitter and resentful. Personal History: Donald Blake did not exist for two years. Thor inhabited his body from age 12 to 14, and the two have worked together ever since then to do good wherever they can. They study at the Xavier school to better learn how to do this.
SAMPLES In-Character Journal Sample: Today was my first day teaching, and I've gotta say, it's a strange thing. I never would have thought twenty years ago that I'd be teaching mutant children how to build electromagnets. Oh, I shouldn't say "children". They're re really not. Hell, one of them was pregnant! She was a really sweet girl, though. And there's this girl I'm going to be tutoring. She calls herself "Rogue", and she's just got the sweetest smile. And she's coming over tonight. Hopefully I don't give her the wrong impression. I'm not sure if I was too forward, inviting her over and everything.
In-Character (3rd Person) RP Sample: "I know you've all heard the rumors, and let me assure you they are 100% true," Tony Stark began, "This thing in my chest is the only reason I'm alive."
The class wasn't really surprised by the admission. They had all heard it before, but still they wondered how it was possible. Tony loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt to reveal numerous rather nasty-looking scars crisscrossing his chest.
"I got these in Afghanistan in 2007," he told them, "I was demonstrating a new weapon I had designed for the Air Force, a missile codenamed 'Jericho'. The test fire I did for them was flawless, and a group of terrorists happened across the intel that said I was in the area. On our way back from the test site, the convoy I was riding with was attacked, and I got these," Tony continued on and gestured to the scars on his chest.
"When I woke up, I was in a cave, and an old man had put this," he pointed to the arc reactor in his chest, "in my chest. It was a much simpler design, he did, but it worked. This man, Yinsin was his name, saved me by hooking an electromagnet up to a car battery. He said to me, 'Stark, you've got shrapnel on its way to your heart. Around here, we call your kind the Walking Dead. This electromagnet will keep you alive for now.'
"That's where Iron Man Mark 1 came from, as well. The terrorists wanted me to build a Jericho for them, and I agreed, but set to work on this instead."
Pausing in his speech, he walked over to his large cart of supplies and tools, and with a great deal of effort took out a gigantic silver arm. It crashed to the table with a loud clang as he lost his grip on it, and the hand remained closed.
"This, class, is the first piece of Iron Man technology that was ever built, the right hand of Iron Man Mark 1. When I built this, I was looking for a quick escape, and that's what I got. I equipped this bad boy with a flamethrower, and made it heavy enough to pack one hell of a punch. And now, with the infusion of Arc technology, this," he paused again and brought out a similar device, though smaller and painted in the trademark gold and red, and opened the hand before continuing, "is what we have today. Iron Man, Mark 3. It's lighter, stronger, and runs on the nearly unlimited power of Arc energy.
"This suit is powered by the same Arc reactor that's in my chest. Arc is the pinnacle of clean, renewable energy, and by the end of this semester, you're all going to have built one for yourselves."
Anything Else You Want Us To Know: Not that I can think of.
Tell us about a plot you want to run/participate in: I want to try Secret Wars, or maybe (I can't recall the name of the story arc) the story when Thor remakes the world to his own liking |
